| 5 minute interview with a VC |
We asked John Tidmarsh of Venture Capitalist group E-synergy what he thought of the Milan EASY investment forum.1.Why did you decide to come to the EASY event in Milan? In part out of curiosity, in part because I want to develop my views on the value of angel investor networks in helping to plug the management skills gap that is a weakness in European early stage venture investment. I also believe that the future lies in a more integrated relationship between angel and venture investors – much like the Scandinavian model. 2.What did you think of the event overall, but especially the networking? Well managed. It is great to hold the events at different geographical locations. Interesting contacts, some of which I have already followed up, others that I intend to. 3.Did you see any investment opportunities you decided to follow-up on? I saw a company that is of potential interest, but who I had already met. It was very useful to see them again after just under a year. 4.How is the follow-up going? It is too early to follow up as the fund is not yet closed. 5.Will you be coming to the EASY events in Barcelona and/or London or will you be sending a colleague? I will certainly attend – to pursue networking opportunities above all. 6.Would you recommend EASY to other people? Certainly! 7.Is there anything else you would like to add? It would be good to try to promote the event to select early stage venture funds in the countries where the conferences are held. |
